Faculty & Staff
Mr. Anwar Amin is coming to Columbia Academy from the great city of Philadelphia, where he has taught middle and high school math and science for the past 15 years, and also having served in various roles while working for the Philadelphia Public School System. A graduate of West Virginia State University and member of the men’s basketball team, Mr. Amin brings a team atmosphere to the middle school environment as well as his classroom. Mr. Amin is looking forward to the wonderful new challenges of educating the great students at Prep@Collegaite.

Pat originally hails from Bridgeport, CT but attended Loyola University Maryland for undergraduate diploma and has lived in Baltimore for the past 6 years. Upon graduating from Loyola (MD), Pat served as a Teaching Fellow at Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys. Patrick joined the TFA Baltimore team during the 2017 school year and now teaches 6th graders Social Studies. In his spare time, Pat enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and brunching on the weekends

Milan Dry is a Baltimore native and also a product of Baltimore City Public School System. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education English and master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Salisbury University. She is a 4th year teacher in her first year at BCSB, where she teaches 7th ELA. She is looking forward to an exciting summer where she will continue to connect with and challenge talented students.
am from Mumbai, India and am a rising senior at Johns Hopkins University. My major is called Medicine, Science and the Humanities and I am minoring in Women and Gender studies. I am planning on pursuing social work and nonprofit management! I love working with young children and most of my experience has been in tutoring. I enjoy reading, traveling and eating cake! A fun fact about me is that I can read hieroglyphs!
Nere Eyeguokan is a Baltimore native and recently graduated from Frostburg State University with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Leadership Studies. He has several years experience working with the youth in camp and school settings, including the inaugural session of Prep@Collegiate. This Fall, he will be joining the BCSB team as a Collegiate Fellow. He aspires to be a School Counselor in the future.
Akeish Forsythe is a Baltimore Native and an Alumna of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. She holds a BA from Towson University and is pursuing an MS. in Education from Johns Hopkins University. She is a 6th year teacher with experience in both Baltimore county and city public schools. During the School year, She works as a Math teacher and Content Team Leader at Milford Mill Academy HS.
Dr. Laufenberg has worked as an educator for nearly twenty years. He holds a B.A. from Johns Hopkins, an M.A. from Georgetown University, and a Ph.D. from Princeton University, where he has taught for the past six years. At Princeton, George helped develop the curriculum for the Freshman Scholars Institute--an intensive summer program serving incoming freshmen who are first-generation college students and who come from low-income backgrounds.
Sean grew up in San Diego, California, but is now a freshman at Brown University where he hopes to earn degrees in Economics and History. He's very excited to work with the boys this summer as a fellow! Some of his hobbies include rugby, surfing, hiking, and reading.
Luke grew up in Chicago, Illinois and is going into his junior year at Amherst College, where he is pursuing a degree in Economics. He’s very excited to spend this summer working with the boys at Prep@Collegiate as a fellow! He is a member of the lacrosse team at Amherst College and his hobbies include drawing, photography, and football.
A graduate of the Illustrious North Carolina A&T State University, Mrs. Muhammad holds a Bachelors and Masters in English with concentrations in Technical Writing and African American Literature. She’s a native of New Jersey and has living in Maryland for almost 4 years. She’s a mother of an almost two year old and has been married for nearly 4 years. Pedagogically, she believes that all children can learn and holds high expectations for all. She has been teaching for 5 years and in the future wants to coach teachers on how to instruct students in a more culturally relevant manner.
Jeff is a native of the Baltimore area and previously held the position of Head Fellow in the first year of Prep@Collegiate. He's currently pursuing his Master's degree in Nonprofit Management and Public Policy at NYU and plans on continuing his strong relationship with the BCSB students this summer at Prep@Collegiate.
