PREP@collegiate...

The elite summer program run by Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys. The mission of Prep@Collegiate is to ensure the highest quality of academic instruction for our boys throughout the summer, while providing exciting and enriching co-curricular activities.

The Program:

Prep@Collegiate is a rigorous academic summer college prep academy for boys entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the Fall of 2017. We have limited seats for exceptional students with strong grades, positive attitudes, and excellent recommendations from a teacher, principal, or coach.

Prep@Collegiate gives boys access to the best teachers in Baltimore who will lead classes in Advanced Mathematics (an intensive Pre- Algebra Course for rising 8th graders), English Literature, Grammar and Writing, Science, and History. Morning classes will be in these core subjects with the afternoon program focused on co- curricular enrichment activities: Sports, swimming, chess tournaments, public speaking, field trips and test prep for applicants who are interested in attending independent and boarding schools.

Prep@Collegiate begins with a brunch for families and concludes with a closing ceremony and celebration.

To Apply to Prep@Collegiate...

We are seeking highly qualified candidates with demonstrated aptitude and promise. Admission requirements include a completed application form, character references, and a personal interview. References provided by teachers, principals, mentors, and coaches play an important role in the admission decision.

Note that there are three sections to the application:

- one for students to fill out (pages 1-2);
- one for parents to fill out (page 3);
- and one for recommenders to fill out (pages four and five)

You can fill in the first three pages on your screen and save the form/print it out, or you can print it out & fill it out by hand.

The last two pages are recommendation forms--please print these out, and give each to a person who will be recommending the applicant for admission. One of these people must be a teacher; the other may be a mentor, advisor, coach, pastor, or other non-family adult who is well-positioned to provide in-depth responses to the questions on the form (they should feel free to append a separate letter of recommendation, if they choose to). Please either ask the recommenders to place the form in a sealed envelope (with their signature across the seal) which the applicant can turn in with the rest of the application, or provide the recommenders with stamped envelopes addressed to: Prep@Collegiate, BCSB, 1101 Winston Ave, Baltimore, MD 21211

You can turn in the application by:

  1. Emailing your application to prep@baltimorecollegiate.org.
  2. Turning in or mail your application to our main office on the 2nd floor of 1101 Winston Ave Baltimore, MD 21212.
  3. Faxing your application to 443-377-7417.

***Interviews are currently in progress--applications are still being accepted for the remaining seats***

Applicants accepted into the program will be notified by email, and seats must be confirmed with a non-refundable deposit of $100 by May 31, 2017.
