On Friday, July 21st, we were able to cap off an excellent week with a visit to my alma mater, the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. Unfortunately, not all the gentlemen were able to go but for those who signed up in time, they had a ball. This was a wonderful opportunity for our gents to be exposed to a large college campus and a different kind of collegiate atmosphere. The trip started off with a brief tour of campus with visits to the south campus commons area, the historic Mckeldin Mall, and the Adele H. Stamp Student Union. The on-campus tour ended with the boys visiting the UMD Campus store and having some fun on Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. After about 30 minutes of racing each other and running around on the turf in 95 degree heat, the boys were exhausted and wanted to escape the high temperatures. Our visit to the campus ended off with all the boys being rewarded with an Italian ice from Rita's!
Below are a few pictures from our trip--and be sure to check out posts from our field trips to Washington, D.C. and the Potomac river, as well as more posts from our Prep@Collegiate faculty & staff!
